A downloadable Survival Horror Game

Important Note: Right now the game is only available for Windows, I'm working on trying to release it for Mac and maybe even mobile as well. I'll keep you guys updated on that!

When The Outsiders Come In is a free survival horror game where characters must survive home invasions. In the demo you play as Carter, a normal guy who finds himself trapped in his own house with an intruder. Injured and scared, Carter must use his head to stay alive. You must stay hidden and listen carefully to make sure that the intruder does not find you, pick up items that can be thrown at the intruder just in case he does spot you and give yourself time to run and hide.

Tips:
-Hiding under beds and in closets will help you lose the intruder but don't stay there for too long.
-Move slowly and listen carefully to make sure that you are safe.
-Keep track of your resources, you don't want to run out.

A personal note from me:
I started working on this game in 2015 when I was 17 years old and after 3 years of working on it, I have finally made it to this point. As a 20 year old, I still love working on this game and I will continue to support it once the full release comes out. I wanted to thank you for even taking the time to look at the game and thank you even more for downloading and playing it. There's still a lot more to come from this game and I still want to make this game the best it can be so I'm always open to feedback.

Made in Unreal Engine 4

Good game the graphics are nice and the killer looks awesome but he is really easy to avoid. I didn't like the soundtrack i think you should add music in the menu and background noises and music in the house. I also think you should show the intruder breaking into the house as well. But apart from that i really enjoyed it.

Thank you! I've been making some changes to the game and the menu and I will add sounds to it. I wanted to keep it mostly silent in the actual game so it is easier to hear the intruder and to add a bit of creepiness to it but I may add an option to have the music. As far as showing the intruder, the demo starts out in the middle of the story and there's a lot of stuff left out so I didn't give too much away but full game will show everything for this character's chapter (including how the intruder got in). I am glad you enjoyed it and I hope you'll stick around for the full release! I'll be commenting on your video soon.

I feel like this game has real potential and I want to see it go places I will be sticking around till the full release. I just love the concept of home Intruder games and yours does it so well.

I really appreciate it! After I add a couple of things and do some more testing, an update to the demo will be coming out then the full release will come out not too long after that.

So, other than the small bugs here and there, this game is a gem! It feels a lot like a bunch of old classic indie horrors that I've played int he past mixed with a few more modern 'slasher' games that I've played a little more recently. The stealth mechanic was pretty sweet, and I'm definitely happy that the outsider can actually pull you out of a hiding place. It wasn't TOO hard, though I did pretty terrible for the first ten or so minutes! The enemy model was pretty awesome, and the chase music was INTENSE. Definitely a good substitute for a jumpscare / fast paced runaway music. So yeah, I really enjoyed this. Everything from the eerie atmosphere to the voice acting and stealth mechanics. It was short and sweet. Thanks for making this!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I was only able to watch a little bit of your video earlier and I thought it was great so far  but I definitely will watch the whole thing. I'm glad you enjoyed the game and I hope you'll stick around for the update to the demo and the full game!

I’m looking forward to it! Gotta see what happens after that cliffhanger!!

For sure man! Thanks again for checking it out!

You have so much more patience than I do :D

I died 5 times from bugs and quit. Kudos to making it through!

Thank you for you downloading and playing the game. I really enjoyed the video man, I was laughing the whole time! Thank you for the feedback too. I really like the highlighting items idea and I wanted to do it for the demo but I couldn't get the coding for it right. I'm definitely working to make the game both kinda hard but fair to the players at the same time.

This was very creepy I walked into the living room and I literally walked straight past the burglar I shit myself.

Thank you for checking it out! You definitely had the calmest reaction to the killer that I’ve seen so far! Great videman!

I’m the same way. Did you enjoy the game overall though? I watch the video and I remember you saying there were some things that annoyed you.

i enjoyed the game thought it was creepy just when i hit the burglar with something i ran past him and he still got me.

Oh okay, I think I know what the problem was. I'll work on it.

Dude! Scared the S*** out of me in the first 5 seconds. jeez... SteamVR launched so I'll have to try it again on the vive. Since it's my house, but I've never personally been in it, maybe a dungeon map with some tips would be handy.

Thanks for checking it out! I've been thinking about adding a tutorial level or something to the demo, I definitely will put it in the full game but as of right now, I didn't want to hold people's hand too much with the game.
